13 DAYS ITINERARY FOR GUESTS FROM NOVEMBER 13th – 25th 2019

Day 1 Arrival from USA (November 13th 2019)

On arrival from USA, guests will be picked from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to Nora Keushi Guest House (aka my dad’s house) to refresh. Guests will be driven around Nairobi for sightseeing, this is an assumption that they arrive in the morning. Later, the guests will be taken back to the guest house where they will spend a night. Anyone who arrives after this date will be responsible for the additional fees that will come from being driven to wherever the group will be located. Overnight at Nora Kieushi Guest House Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the house.

DAY 2 (November 14th, 2019) Nairobi – Naivasha Hell’s Gate National Park

After breakfast at Norah Kieushi guest house, the guests will set off for Naivasha, with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Here, guests will explore the incredible wildlife and enjoy panoramic scenic views on their way to Hell’s Gate National Park, which is named after the intense geothermal activities within its boundaries. They will discover the sprawling Kenyan scenery while touring around this park full of native flora and fauna, gorges, and hot springs with panoramic views of lake Naivasha Mt. Longonot and the largest flower firms in Africa. Other spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. Later, guests will check into Naivasha West Beach camp for the night. Overnight at Naivasha West Beach camp Meal plan: Breakfast Norah Kieushi, Dinner – Naivasha West (Lunch not included)

DAY 3 (November 15th 2019) Naivasha-Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After early breakfast, check out from the camp and continue with the safari to the world famous Maasai Mara, arriving for lunch at the camp for a 2 day stay. The activities at the lodge involve observing wildlife from the elephant deck or at the hippo bar overlooking a waterhole. Alternatively, enjoy the swimming pool or other optional activities (payable locally) such as the spa or nature walks. In the afternoon enjoy unlimited game drives in the Mara Reserve. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge Meal plan: Breakfast – Naivasha Bush camp Lunch and Dinner – Mara Sopa Lodge

DAY 4 (November 16th 2019) Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Early breakfast at the lodge followed by a morning game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Later have lunch at the camp. Enjoy another game drive in the Reserve in the afternoon. Expect to see varieties of wild animals in Kenya, both great and small, such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and antelopes among others. This reserve is home to the famous big cats in the region. DAY 5 (November 17th 2019) Maasai Mara - Nairobi

After breakfast check out from the lodge, there will be a morning game drive then travel back to Nairobi. Later in the night, guests will be taken for a tour of Nairobi at night. Overnight at Nora Kieushi Guest house in Nairobi Meal Plan: Breakfast – Mara Sopa, Dinner – Norah Kieushi, (Lunch not included)

DAY 6 (November 18th 2019) Nairobi – Mombasa - Malindi

After breakfast, guests will embark on Mombasa safari via the SGR train. During the journey which takes approximately five hours, travelers will get to experience the beautiful panoramic view of Kenya’s famous landscape and wildlife. The experience is immediate as the train snakes its way through the rocky hills of Machakos county, the Savannah grasslands of the Kapiti plains and then into the reddish landscape of Tsavo, punctuated by the huge baobab trees. And if you’re lucky you may even see elephants, giraffes and zebras. On a calm day (weather permitting, travelers can view the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro on North Western side of Mombasa as the trains snakes through the Savannah down to the coastal city of Mombasa. The guests will be received at the SGR station and travel by road to Malindi (A journey of about 2 hours). Guests will rest and embark on activity of their choice in the evening and night. DAY 7 (November 19th 2019) Malindi/Watamu

After Breakfast, guest will have a tour of the attraction sites in Malindi including the Vasco – da – Gama pillar, and the Italian Church among others. A visit to the Marine Park is arranged later in the morning. The park is a protected area and is endowed with magnificent resources. At the park, you will be able to see prolific marine life including, crabs, sea urchins, jelly fish, sea stars, sea cucumbers, fringing reefs, coral gardens in the lagoons, sea grass beds, mangroves, mudflats, marine mammals, turtles and various species of shorebirds and other different types of coral species. Activities at the park include swimming with zebra fish, to windsurfing, glass bottom boat rides, snorkeling, camping and beach walks. Overnight Watamu - Shuma Meal Plan: On the guest.

DAY 8 (November 20th 2019) Malindi - Mombasa - Nairobi

After breakfast, Guests will be driven to Mombasa to board the SGR train back to Nairobi enjoying breathtaking views of the Kenyan flora and fauna on the return journey. This is a great experience since travelers in the SGR train can view some wild animals as the journey progresses back to Nairobi. The guest will arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and will be driven to the guest house to relax. The guests will choose their own activities to indulge in during the evening. DAY 9. (November 21st 2019) A visit to Tea plantations in Kiambu – Giraffe center

Immediately after breakfast guest will head out to the Tea Plantations. Kenya is known world over for its high-quality tea and coffee. Most tea and coffee are grown in the highlands west and east of the Rift Valley and in Central Kenya at altitudes of between 1500 to 2700. Limuru region is one such area where tea and coffee is grown on large scale. A visit to the tea and coffee plantations will give the visitor a firsthand experience how tea and coffee is grown and processed. The Limuru highlands in Kiambu is ideal for both tea and coffee growing. The guest will have a panoramic view of the undulating landscape of the Kenya highlands. After guests will be driven to the Giraffe center where they will spend time with the giraffes. The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organization. The main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country’s wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity to come into close contact with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe. Visitors can feed the giraffe as well as be educated about the giraffe. After spending 2 hours at the giraffe center guest will head out to Raha Mstarehe where lunch will be ready for them. DAY 10. (November 22nd 2019) A visit to Girls school or Orphanage for disadvantaged women in the Nairobi area on behalf of EM INC.

We are excited to be partnering up with Every Month INC. A non -profit organization that focuses on assisting young girls and women “struggling to menstruate with dignity due to poverty, traditions, misconceptions, miseducation, & lack of sanitary products, EVERY MONTH.” Guests will spend the day interacting and sharing life experiences with these females and distributing out the products we raised money for. # FriendsgivingKE2019 Overnight at Nora Kieushi Guest house in Nairobi Meal Plan: Breakfast – By host (Raha Mstarehe) Lunch - Host Dinner – Norah Kieushi.

Day 11. (November 23rd 2019) Sheldrick Elephant & Rhino Orphanage & Carnivore Restaurant

After breakfast, guest will head out to the world-famous Elephant and Rhino Orphanage. Here you will be able to see these magnificent creatures that were rescued and observe how they're cared for. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the conservation efforts to preparing the elephants and Rhinos on their return to the wild. The group will then return back to the house to freshen up before heading to Carnivore Restaurant for dinner and entertainment. DAY 12. (November 24th 2019) National Museums of Kenya / Shopping

After breakfast, guest will visit the National Museums of Kenya where they will can opt to have a guided tour of the museum at a fee of USD 20 per a group of 10 people or have an unguided tour. At the museum, you will learn the history of Kenya and its diverse cultures and of the early Man. You will learn about the Kenyan flora and fauna which is cured and preserved for posterity. At the guests’ choice, you can visit the snake park. Overnight at Nora Kieushi Guest house in Nairobi Meal Plan: Breakfast and Dinner – Norah Kieushi, Lunch (by the host).

DAY 13. (November 25th 2019) Departure from Nairobi Drop off at the airport.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch – Norah Kieushi Guests will be dropped off to the airport to take a flight back to the USA depending on the departure time and day.



Things to bring with you to Kenya

Snacks for those picky eaters,CD with your favorite mix of songs for a drive to the Safari,2-3 nice outfits to go out while in Nairobi & dinner at the beach. White outfits for one night & brown,beige,orange colors for our last night together.


The Weather

Weather in Kenya is pleasant throughout the year. November temperatures would be compared Fall with the only difference being it's the beginning of our warmer season. Average temperatures range around 79°(rarely falling below 70°). We do experience short rains which last a few minutes before it's back to being perfect.

Obtaining a Visa on Arrival

Your passport must have at least 6 months left before expiration date and 2 blank pages left for visas. Children under the age of 16, travelling with an accompanying adult, DO NOT require a visa. If you plan to obtain visas on arrival then you will need to have exactly US$50 in cash for the visa fee. Again, Please make you have the exact amount in US dollars with you before your flight to Kenya as there is no foreign exchange facility in immigration and they do not accept credit cards or travellers cheques nor give change. On your flight to Nairobi, you will be given an immigration from on the plane to fill out before your arrival so that when you land you can go straight into the queue to purchase your visa.

Kenya E-Visa

The online E-Visas will normally be issued in less than 3 days but we recommend that online applications should be made at least 7 working days prior to travel to give plenty of time for the application process to be completed. Please note that single entry visas are valid for 90 days after date of issue, so you should not apply until less than 90 days before date of arrival and departure from Kenya. If you are travelling back into Kenya from other East African Countries on the same trip within 90 day validity then you do not require an additional visa and the Single Entry Visa will be accepted.
